Video clipping for your workflow
Prepare YouTube video moments for Shorts with an MP4 upload
Want to make short clips from a video you published on YouTube? ThirdClip can help after you have an MP4 file that you are allowed to use. Upload the video, review transcript-based clip suggestions, and render selected moments as branded exports. ThirdClip does not download or import a video from a YouTube URL, so the source file is the first step.
Get an MP4 you have permission to use
ThirdClip is upload-first. Paste-in YouTube link ingestion is not supported. Use YouTube Studio or another method available to you to obtain an MP4 of your own video, or a video you have permission to process. Respect the rights and platform terms that apply to the footage. Once you have the file, upload it in the ThirdClip app.
A brand theme can be configured before processing. Set your name, colors, font, captions, and optional logo. This saved style is applied when you render selected clips, helping keep a recognizable appearance across videos from your channel.
Find moments worth reviewing
ThirdClip reads the transcript and ranks sections by how well they stand alone as short-form posts. Suggested moments have a title, time range, and score, so you can inspect a possible excerpt without searching the complete video by hand. The product can prepare vertical clip exports, which you can then consider for YouTube Shorts or other destinations.
Review every suggestion before you use it. Check that the excerpt makes sense without the rest of the video and that it communicates the point you intend. Automated scoring narrows down the material; it does not guarantee that a clip will perform well or be appropriate for your channel.
Render, download, and publish yourself
Select the clips you want to keep and render them as MP4 files with your brand styling. Captions can be included based on your settings. Download the exports and upload them to Shorts through your own account. ThirdClip prepares the clip files but does not publish them, set their titles, or manage your YouTube channel.
This workflow is useful when you want to reuse a longer video without manually finding every candidate moment. The key limitation is that you need the source MP4 first. If you only have a YouTube URL and cannot obtain a permitted video file, ThirdClip cannot process that link directly.
